You can take one course or all three – the choice is up to you on how far you want to go with our program. And although this is a comprehensive program, we understand that you have a life to live. That’s why each segment of the program is designed to allow individuals the chance to study at their leisure, taking each course as time and finances allow.



ROTH HOLISTIC HORSEMANSHIP
Course 1 (HHC1)
Prerequisite: There are no prerequisites for participating in this course. We do, however, recommend familiarizing yourself with our methodologies ahead of time by either downloading our “Reach Out to Natural Horsemanship” video series or attending one of our introductory courses such as “Horse Whispering 101” or “Liberty, Language and Life Lessons”.
About this Course:
Holistic Horsemanship Course 1 is ideal for equine enthusiasts, horse guardians, instructors, trainers, clinicians and those working in the equine industry - anyone seeking a better, non-dominant way to relate to the horses in their lives. Just beginning your adventure with horses? Not a problem. We love novices - you have a clean slate, perfect for us to share methods and techniques to start your training off right. And for more seasoned equestrians, this course is the perfect way to immerse yourself into the language of equus and our trust-based horsemanship methodologies to both broaden and sharpen your skills.
In this twelve-day course you will be introduced to and practice the following:
- Horses as our teachers; how mindset and energy affects your horse
- How to read, understand, approach, and greet your horse
- Breathing and grounding techniques
- To use your eyes effectively to convey even the subtlest of communication to your horse
- Natural horsemanship equipment and tack from the beginning; what is appropriate to use, when and why, and what isn’t
- Permission based haltering, picking up feet, and mindful grooming
- Confident and respectful handling, leading, and bathing
- Safety; how to avoid injury to you and your horse
- Herd Dynamics and how to safely be with loose horses
- Equine Communication - Physical, Mental and Energetic
- The Exclusive ROTH In-hand T.L.C. Methodology
- Taking care of your horse naturally - Physical, Emotional, Mental well-being and Social interaction
- How to interact with your horse in-hand and at liberty
- Natural herd and barn management
- How to recognize crucial health issues and what to do about them
- Fun activities to do with your horse (it's not just about the riding)
- How to find the right horse for you and personalize your program!
Students will also be required to produce a small group presentation as well as an individual paper on approved topics.

ROTH HOLISTIC HORSEMANSHIP
Course 2 (HHC2)
Prerequisite: ROTH Holistic Horsemanship Course 1
About this Course:
After completion of HHC1, students have the option to complete the ROTH Holistic Horsemanship Course 2 (required for students planning to enter the trainer’s program). This is a home field study program and requires students to practice what they learned in HHC1, ultimately producing 20 case studies. After the first ten case studies along with a one-hour video are submitted, students will receive a private tutoring session with a ROTH certified instructor during which their case studies will be evaluated and questions answered. They will then complete their last ten case studies for submission. The timeframe of the field study varies but is generally recommended to be approximately ten months.

Course 3 (HHC3)
Prerequisite: ROTH Holistic Horsemanship Course 1
About this Course:
HHC3 is the conclusion and culmination of everything students have learned in HHC1 and, for some, HHC2, in addition to some fine-tuning of more advanced material. HHC3 is where students address problem areas and solidify their learning to see just how much of the learned information they have retained and can adeptly apply on both the written and practical final exams.
In this twelve-day course you will practice the following:
- Speaking the full language of the horse – body language, energy, telepathy
- De-sensitizing horses to unusual objects, touch & sound
- Problem solving techniques
- Free-schooling and ground driving practical applications
- Socializing horses

Successful graduates of HHC3 will have made a fundamental shift in the way they approach everything with horses. It is transformative not only for the horse, but for the human as well.
